2ND MOST RECENT POEM
THIS IS A POEM INSPIRED BY THE ABOVE PHOTOGRAPHS I TOOK WHILE WALKING MY DOG ON THE WEST SIDE BEACH OF PORT HOPE, ONTARIO, CANADA
Twighlight Sentinels
Copyrighted 11.03.2005 Author: Barb Walker
The twighlight sentinels;
Beacons-Guarding
The entrance
To the harbour;
Waiting
For the coming
Of the sail boats.
Right now,
The only companion,
Is the crackling ice;
Lit by the light
Of the setting sun.
Oh what an eerie sound
That Ice makes,
As the waves
Move it
All around.
It's peaceful
And quiet here,
As the twighlight
Hour approaches.
The only sound
One can hear,
Is the lonely whistle
Of the train,
Passing by.
