Banff Thunder Storm
Copyrighted 02.05.04 Author: Barb Walker
I'm sitting here,
At the bus station,
As the storm clouds roll in
From behind Sulphur Mountain.
The lightening flashes,
Like a large spider's web,
Across the darkened sky,
Announcing the arrival
Of a big bang.
Yet, the sound is,
Strangely gentle
As the rolling thunder
Echoes through
The majestic mountains.
Fear is now forgotten,
As the warm rain
Starts to fall
On to the pavement,
Slowly at first,
Then all of a sudden...
The sky opens up
And the rain comes
Pouring down.
The thunder comes
More often, now,
And the lightening
Lights up the sky.
Yet that sound
Is amazingly
Soft and soothing,
To me,
As I wait for the bus...
Destination unknown.
