POEM

GET THEE DEMONS
AWAY FROM ME;
AWAY FROM
THE INNER SANCTUM
OF MY DEEPEST MIND.

I NEED TO SEEK
THE LIGHT
OF LOVE;
SO BE GONE!
LEAVE ME
ALONE!

POEM

My Kindred Spirit
Copyrighted 27. 03.2004 Author: Barb Walker
A soul...
On life's journey;
Yearning for
That one and only...
A soulmate.
Someone who
Eventhough
Is not a lover,
Has the power
To make the soul
Take flight.
To me,
You are
That soulmate;
Because although
We're miles away,
The sweetness
Of your,
Platonic, love;
And the time
We spend talking
Raises my soul,
To flight
Of happiness.
Everytime
I think
Of you...
A smile crosses
My face;
And all the cares
Melt away........
Just a distant memory...
YOU ARE MY KINDRED SPIRIT.

THE OWL

GREAT GREY OWL COPYRIGHTED ROY WALKER 2005

THE GREAT GREAY OWL Posted by Hello

The story behind this fantastic picture.

Normally Great Grey Owls don't come down as far south as Ottawa ... Well at least until this year we've never seen one; I still haven't seen one in person, however, one day I got an email from my dad and to my surprise there were pictures of this Great Grey Owl who decided to perch on a tree close to my parents ' house. My dad, being a great photographer and avid bird watcher, couldn't resist taking pictures of this bird.. And what a great photo this one ended up being. Look at her gaze. Now I can truly see why they call them "wise old owls" ...lol... This is going to be a painting sometime in the future.

Here's exercise for me aquick poem with the owl as topic

ABOUT THE POEM

Next poem is almost finished. It's called "THE SHANTY" and it's current version is down below.
The picture was taken last summer at the west beach in Port Hope, Ontario, Canada.
I was getting bored with taking Thunder for walks on the east beach so decided to go to the west one. It was a hot, muggy, and hazy day but I brought my camera with me. I must say I was very suprised to see that shanty right there, but I liked the composition of the picture so I took it.

THE EDITOR ON VACATION Posted by Hello

It's one of my favourites, even though her ears are back... I spent whole afternoon trying to get her to put her ears forward and no luck ...but I
eventually did get a high five from her .. picture to come. I call the tree which frames the picture from the upper left " INSPIRATION POINT" cause that's where i come to think, and relax.

The Shanty
Copyrighted 16. 03. 2005 Author: Barb Walker

Have you ever
Been homeless,
With no place
of your own;
Just,
A tumble weed,
Blowing
Through town?
Look,
At this shanty;
The only place
I've known;
With
A beautiful view ,
But
A very cold home.

On the one hand;
Freedom;
Come and go
As I please
But on the other;
Loneliness;
That noone
Can ease.

thunder the wonder dog xmas 2004 Posted by Hello

What can I say I'm lucky she's very easy going... She's 1/4 Newfie and 3/4 Lab or as I like to call her a Newfie from Labrador (cause the province is now called Newfoundland and Labrador and pure bred newfies are all shaggy and long haired...NB: JOSH THE NEWFOUNDLANDER WON THE 2004 WESTMINSTER DOG SHOW IN NEW YORK...)

The wind
Is howling

In the willows;

The sky
Is stormy gray;
The house
Is nice and quiet,

Not even the dog
Has stirred.

The snow
Is falling, swirling
In the wind;
The sound
Of silence looms.
It is a perfect day,
To cuddle
The one you love.

THE GHOST IN THE CAMERA
COPYRIGHTED 14.03. 2005 AUTHOR: BARB WALKER

He appears out of nowhere;
A ghostly image,
Not seen
By the naked eye.
A quiet type;
A man of few words
Yet his presence
Is eeriely comforting
As I look
At his photograph.

Twighlight Sentinels

Copyrighted 11.03.2005 Author: Barb Walker

The twighlight sentinels;
Beacons-Guarding
The entrance
To the harbour;
Waiting
For the coming
Of the sail boats.
Right now,
The only companion,
Is the crackling ice;
Lit by the light
Of the setting sun.
Oh what an eerie sound
That Ice makes,
As the waves
Move it
All around.
It's peaceful
And quiet here,

As the twighlight
Hour approaches.

The only sound
One can hear,
Is the lonely whistle
Of the train,
Passing by.
