OLDER POEM

A Lullabye
Copyrighted 03.03.2004 Author: Barb Walker

Lay your weary head
To sleep.
Give your soul,
For me to keep.
May the hounds,
Of hell abide,
And runaway, from here,
And hide.
May God keep you,
In his care,
And protect you,
From dispair
May your heart be filled
With gladness;
And your soul,
Feel the lightness.
May you sing,
With all the chorus,
That you're free
From all the horrors.

I FEEL A POEM COMING ON

THE SOUND OF SILENCE
Copyrighted 04.04.2005 AUTHOR: Barb Walker

The sound of silence
And the look of darkness ;
Disconcerting and eerie ;
Whole town ground to a halt.
One Can only see,
The flash of lights,

Of the headlights,
Of cars passing by.

this was inspired by the latest black out we had this one caused by a major fire in the next town caused by 2 teenages who had nothing better to do then to set horizons plastics on fire. the eerie silence just freaks me out and it is very disconcerting . so i wrote this peom expressing the feeling s behind the black out B.
